Autoimmune Diseases
Have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease such as: cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, etc,? Sometimes it can take years to get a diagnosis even though you have a sixth sense that something in your body isn’t quite right. Perhaps your lab work has come back within the normal ranges for years which may leave you feeling frustrated and feeling like “does anyone understand?” Or maybe thoughts of “what is wrong with me and why can’t I get answers?” or “do the doctors believe me?” Then after years of “knowing something with your body isn’t right, now finally you get a diagnosis and now it is a constant working through medications, tests, and daily struggles to have energy to just stay above the next flare-up. You know that today you feel “good” but the next day or week you may pay for overdoing it. Autoimmune diseases take such a toll on you and your relationships and you may feel judgement because you look fine to others so it is hard to talk to others about how you really feel. Also, it may be difficult to talk to others about your experience as you don’t want to be a downer. If you would like to talk to someone who has experience in the medical field contact me. When we sit down together I look forward to hearing your personal experience with your: illness, relationship with yourself, and relationship with others.
